Growing up, my parents didn't always have money for the clothes and toys we wanted, but we always had what we needed. Garage Sales was an opportunity to have things that we usually wouldn't. As an adult, I realize that sometimes, the smallest thing can impact someone's life. I believe in giving back to those who are sincere about helping others; therefore, I work directly with people who can get items into people's hands who need them. The ability to source items from a Garage Sale enables my family to provide many more resources than if we purchased from a retail store.
In 2012, with the help of a couple of co-workers, we started an annual Christmas Day food and toy giveaway event. Many new toys were sourced from garage sales, allowing us to serve more kids each year. In 2023, we provided new toys to over 300 children and passed out 500 meals. Last year, we added pictures for families to take with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause and the Grinch. Giving back to the community is an honor and privilege, and nogaragesale.com is a resource that helps facilitate our charity events.
