My Story

Growing up in the early 1980s, my parents frequented garage sales and thrift stores out of necessity. My parents were hard workers, but they always looked for ways to stretch the dollar, and that was one way of doing so. It wasn't long before my dad discovered that he could source items from such places and resell them for extra revenue. I was a young man following my father in his footsteps and quickly understanding the lessons that life could teach me by simply being respectable and honest.

As I grew older and established a successful engineering career, I still found myself attending garage sales. My passion for sales continued to grow when I met my wife, who also had a humbling upbringing but shared my love for the "hunt" for a good deal. I found myself looking forward to Saturday mornings to see what things I didn't know I needed to buy.

The one common thing I hear from those hosting the sale is that it is a lot of work and time. And being in Phoenix, Arizona, sometimes it's too hot to even think of having a garage sale. After thirty years of working for the same company and being laid off,I decided to do something I have always been passionate about buying and selling items from garage sales. I quickly realized that I could provide a service for anyone who needed to get rid of some items but wanted to avoid the headaches and hassles of hosting a garage sale or selling items on Facebook Marketplace or OfferUp. That is how nogaragesale.com was born.
